The road network linking communities from Teleku-Bokazo, Aluku, and Salema in Ellembelle through Gwira-Dominase to Simpa Junction in the Nzema-East Municipality is in an unmotorable state, requiring urgent government intervention.
The poor condition of the road has severely impacted the movement of goods and services, crippling the local economy. Many commuters have been discouraged from using the road, while commercial motorbike (Okada) riders have taken advantage of the situation, charging passengers exorbitant fares for short distances.

Speaking in an interview with Nzema Today TV, a Unit Committee Member at Gwira-Dominase, Mr. Akannor Nyamekeh, expressed concerns over the transportation challenges faced by residents. He noted that although the people in the area are predominantly farmers, the lack of proper roads has made it extremely difficult to transport their produce to market centers.
He emphasized that the Gwira area is rich in cocoa production, yet a significant portion of the cocoa produced goes to waste because farmers are unable to transport their cocoa beans to the Produce Buying Company due to the deplorable road conditions.
Mr. Akannor Nyamekeh also reminded President John Dramani Mahama of his campaign promise to asphalt the Teleku-Bokazo to Simpa Junction road. He urged the government to fulfill this pledge to open up the Gwira area to neighboring districts, facilitating socio-economic development.
