From encouraging reading among young people and caring for the elderly to supporting local traders and promoting youth development, Future Builder Scouts and Mr. Kofi Anaman have just completed a week full of memorable activities in Ellembelle.
It was a week of community service, education and youth engagement as Future Builder Scouts (FBS) embarked on a series of activities in communities across the Ellembelle District.
Before the activities started, Nzema Today had the privilege of interviewing Mr. Kofi Anaman in an exclusive one-on-one interview. He shared the story of Future Builder Scouts, outlining the organization’s journey and its mission to positively influence young people and communities through citizenship, leadership and service.
At Awiebo, the Future Builder Scouts Library Project has taken a significant step in supporting the development of children within the community. Beyond encouraging young people to develop a love for reading, the library now has an ICT centre, enabling children to develop essential digital skills.
The facility features a playground designed for children to enjoy and participate in physical activities that enhance their motor skills. The combination of the library, ICT center and playground creates an environment where children can read, learn, explore, and play all while building essential skills for their future.
The scouts visited the Elderly Care Centre at Ampain, where Mr. Kofi Anaman and the volunteers engaged with the elderly. This experience provided moments of companionship and reminded the young volunteers of the importance of extending love, respect and care to our senior citizens.
During their visit to Aiyinasi Market, Mr. Kofi Anaman, the Future Builder Scouts and Chief Nana Etwe Kpanyili VI engaged with local traders and community members.
The team also patronised the market sellers, supporting local businesses while building stronger relationships with the community.
The educational outreach by the organization progressed at Bokass Senior High School, where students engaged in a Personal Hygiene Education session. This program was intended to highlight the importance of personal hygiene and to encourage students to adopt healthy habits for their well-being.
The organization’s community work prominently featured a bridge that connects Dɔmeabra and Mantukwa. This bridge, which used to be a challenge for movement, has evolved into a safer pathway, facilitating easier access for residents to their farms, schools, healthcare facilities, neighboring communities and loved ones.
The bridge is on the verge of completion. Nzema Today will update the community once the project is fully finished and operational.
Future Builder Scouts made a significant visit to Nzulezo, providing participants with the chance to experience one of Nzema’s unique sites while valuing the culture, heritage and tourism potential of the region.
Yesterday, August 8, 2026, marked a colorful conclusion to the week with the FBS Jamboree 2026 at St. St. Theresa’s School Park at Awiaso.
This event gathered young people for a day filled with learning, teamwork, and enjoyment. Participants engaged in various activities, including STEM, First Aid, dodgeball, Ampe, Ludu, memory games, knot tying, and water-bottle rockets, among others.
The youth turned out in great numbers, bringing energy and excitement to the jamboree. Classic childhood games also brought back memories, laughter and friendly competition.
The jamboree marked a perfect end to a week focused on community service and youth development. From Awiebo to Ampain, Aiyinasi, Dɔmeabra, Mantukwa, Nzulezo, Awiaso and Bokass Senior High School. The Future Builder Scouts showcased various ways that volunteerism can aid in community development. Led by Mr. Kofi Anaman, the organization remains committed to its core values of citizenship, leadership and service , inspiring young individuals to take an active part in strengthening their communities.
