Agyalu Kronzu Junior High School at Awiebo emerged as the winner of the 2025 World Tuberculosis Day Quiz Competition held in Ellembelle.

The school scored 46 points to defeat Awiebo-Basake D/A Junior High School, which secured 37 points, while Mary Andoh Preparatory School placed third with 30 points.

The competition featured participants from Awiebo-Basake District Assembly Basic School, Mary Andoh Preparatory School, and Agyalu Kronzu Junior High School, all located in the twin-town of Awiebo-Basake.

The Quiz Competition provided the students with an opportunity to raise awareness about tuberculosis, as well as share important information on its prevention and the efforts needed to eradicate the deadly disease.

The Assembly Member for Awiebo-North and former Presiding Member of the Ellembelle District Assembly, Hon. David Enu, said he would continue to raise awareness on TB prevention and eradication.
He noted that although the disease is not common in the town, he will ensure that any early symptoms are promptly given medical attention.

Hon. David Enu also congratulated the schoolchildren for their splendid performance in the TB quiz competition.
For his part, the Assembly Member for Basake, Hon. Enoch Assuah Mukey, expressed his delight at the high turnout of health officials, schoolchildren, and community members.

He encouraged individuals experiencing persistent coughs to visit health facilities for proper diagnosis before seeking treatment.
Hon. Assuah Mukey further urged community members to maintain good sanitation practices at all times.
