March 2, 2026, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro Constituency, has donated assorted food items to the Muslim community in the Jomoro Municipality as they observe the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The items included 100 bags of sugar (50kg each), 100 boxes of tea bags, 15 boxes of Milo, and 100 packs of milk.
Presenting the items at a short ceremony held at the Central Mosque at Tikobo No. 1, Hon. Affo-Toffey, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Transport, expressed her deepest appreciation to the Muslim community in Jomoro for their massive support for her and President John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 general elections.
The MP stated that the donation forms part of her annual support to the Muslim community in fulfillment of one of the pillars of Islam almsgiving.
She commended the Muslim community for their peaceful coexistence with other faith-based organizations in the country.
Hon. Affo-Toffey also urged Muslims to pray for peace in conflict zones such as Iran and other war-torn areas around the world.
She assured the community of a second batch of donations at the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Hon. Benedict Boadi, the Jomoro Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), also assured the Muslim community that the MP would donate bags of rice at the end of Ramadan.

In fulfilment of a request made last year, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey will also donate 100 bags of cement at the end of Ramadan to support developmental projects around the mosque.
Mr. Emmanuel Benle, the Jomoro NDC Constituency Secretary, stated that the MP has consistently supported the Muslim community in Jomoro during the month of Ramadan since 2019.
He urged Muslims to remain steadfast, deepen their relationship with Allah, and continue to share with others during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Sheikh Alhaji Seifu Jallo, the Municipal Chief Imam, who received the beverages on behalf of more than 30 mosques in Jomoro, thanked the MP for recognizing Ramadan as one of the most important events in the Islamic calendar.
He prayed for peace, progress, strength, and prosperity for the nation and asked for Allah’s blessings upon Hon. Affo-Toffey.
