July 15, 2025 – A philanthropist and founder of Motherhood of Africa, a non-governmental organization (NGO), Nana Esi Antwi Bosiako, has been enstooled as Adehyemaa of the Lower Town Axim and Nsein Traditional Area under the stool name Nana Akaa Kye II. Her enstoolment is in recognition of her contributions to the poor and vulnerable in society.
The ceremony, organized by the Lower Town Axim and Nsein Traditional Council, saw her pledge to collaborate with the Traditional Council, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and the Member of Parliament (MP) to fast-track socio-economic development in the area.
In her speech, Nana Akaa Kye II promised to support mobile health outreach programmes for the aged and vulnerable in villages, saying, “No one should be denied care because of distance or poverty.” She assured the people that the Axim Government Hospital would receive special support and attention.

According to her, Motherhood of Africa has already provided free healthcare screenings during the annual Kundum Festival. She further stated that mothers, the aged, and orphans in the Ashanti and Eastern Regions, as well as in other parts of the world, have benefited from the NGO’s health services.
On economic empowerment, Nana Akaa Kye II announced plans for initiatives that will provide skills training, entrepreneurship development, and microcredit support for small businesses and hardworking women. “Economic dignity is the foundation of peace and stability,” she emphasized, adding that she intends to create a platform to connect the youth with vocational opportunities, mentorship, and funding.
Touching on community development, she pledged to advocate for better infrastructure, especially in roads and schools, and to project Nsein onto a larger platform so people can appreciate its values, traditions, and rich cultural heritage.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Evaloe Adjomoro-Gwira, Hon. Kofi Arko Nokoe, commended the government for promoting inclusiveness, noting that every Paramountcy is now represented at the District Assembly. He highlighted recent appointments, including Awulae Agyevi Kwame, Paramount Chief of the Lower Town Axim and Nsein Traditional Area, to the Board of Ghana Gas, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, and Hon. Dorcas Afo Toffey as Deputy Minister-designate for Transport.

The MP promised to work with the MCE and the Traditional Council to spearhead development in Nsein, lauding the government for allocating GH₵19 million to District Assemblies for development projects. He also assured the youth of his commitment to assist them in securing employment and government appointments and pledged his support for this year’s Kundum Festival.
The Paramount Chief and President of the Lower Town Axim and Nsein Traditional Council, Awulae Agyevi Kwame, welcomed the new queenmother and pledged his full support to push the development agenda of Nsein forward. He praised Nana Akaa Kye II for her rich experience in various sectors, which he believes will accelerate the area’s development.
