October 09, 2025, The Nzema-East Municipal Assembly has expressed a strong commitment to ensuring fair distribution of resources to the communities in Evaloe Adjomoro-Gwira. This initiative is part of the Mahama 2 administration’s agenda to bring development directly to the people. Mr. Herbert Kuah-Dickson, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nzema-East, shared this information during his tour of several communities in the area. He was joined by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Evaloe Adjomoro-Gwira, Hon. Kofi Arko-Nokoe, and the NDC Constituency Vice-Chairman, Mr. Matthew Cobbinah Essien. The communities they visited included Axim, Ndatiem, and Yediyesele. This Thank You tour provided the MCE and MP with the chance to express their gratitude to the people for supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in the recent 2024 general elections. While addressing the community members, Hon. Herbert Kuah-Dickson revealed that President John Dramani Mahama had increased the District Assembly’s Common Fund to GH¢19 million for rural development.
He talked about projects highlighted by the Assembly, including improving the poor road network, extending electricity access, providing school furniture, and addressing network issues. Hon Kuah-Dickson emphasized that the tour aimed to bring the Assembly closer to the community. He urged political leaders and government officials not to wait until the next election to engage with their constituencies. Hon Kuah-Dickson also mentioned that, in addition to other development projects, the Assembly plans to construct at least three classroom blocks each year to ensure that children no longer have to sit under trees for their education. The MCE reassured the public that he and the MP would be as transparent as possible regarding the common fund allocated for development. MP for Evaloe Adjomoro-Gwira, Hon Kofi Arko-Nokoe, stated that the NDC’s victory has begun to benefit Ghanaians. He highlighted significant initiatives from the Mahama-led government, such as hiring 500 community police officers, ensuring transparent recruitment into the Ghana Army, and the “nkoko nketenkete” program. Hon Arko-Nokoe also announced that donations to the disabled would occur every three months. Mr. Matthew Cobbinah Essien, the NDC Vice-Chairman of Evaloe Adjomoro-Gwira, reminded everyone that elections are over and now it’s time for development. He pointed out that the area has fallen behind in development and encouraged the community to support the MCE and the MP in bringing progress to the region.
