June 25, 2025 – The fishing and farming community of Azulenloanu, near Esiama in the Ellembelle District, has been struck by tragedy following the reported disappearance and suspected drowning of a local water guard, Mr. Wisdom Kluu, in the River Amanzule.
Sources close to Nzema Today TV News indicate that Mr. Wisdom Kluu, a former employee of the Produce Buying Company (PBC) of COCOBOD in Azulenloanu, went missing on Monday evening after a hunting expedition in the nearby bush. He had recently transitioned from his role at PBC to serve as a water guard in the town.
According to reports, Mr. Kluu was assisted by family members in crossing the River Amanzule after returning from the bush. He informed them that he would follow the riverbank to reach the main road, where a bridge on the international highway leads back to town.
However, it is believed that Mr. Kluu later changed his mind and decided to swim across the river instead. He is said to have removed all his clothing except for his underwear before attempting the swim back to Azulenloanu.
Tragically, he never arrived home. His two dogs were later found hovering around both his house and the riverside, raising alarm among family members that something might have happened to their master.
On the riverbank, his belongings including his outfit, gun, and machete were discovered neatly packed in a bag.
A search party, consisting of town elders and youth, has since been mobilized to search for Mr. Kluu. The incident has also drawn water guards from Nkroful to Azulenloanu to assist in the search and report any findings to their headquarters.
As of Tuesday, when this report was filed, Mr. Kluu’s body had still not been found.
He is survived by two children, reportedly with a young woman from Asasetre.
Nzema Today TV News will continue to monitor the situation and bring more updates as they become available.
