January 3, 2026 – A group of Nzemas from the Akomu area, spanning from Nkroful to Asasetre, Adubrim, Akropong, and even reaching out to Ebi in the diaspora, have united to create the Ahomu Maanle Diasporan Association. Their goal? To pool their resources and support the development of towns and villages in the Ahomu area of the Ellembelle District. Known as the “Ahomu Maanle Diasporan Association,” these indigenes from various corners of the globe have laid out plans to contribute to the growth and needs of their communities back home. As part of their mission, some members from towns like Nkroful and Asasetre returned during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to donate medical equipment, enhancing the facilities at the Nkroful and Asasetre Clinics. The donations included two thermometers, one height scale, two bed sheets, two trolleys, four blood pressure monitors, one manual blood pressure monitor, two sugar test needles, and a glucometer.

The group also donated plastic chairs to the Clinics. During separate events at the Nkroful and Asasetre Clinics, Mr. Stephen Elievi Quaicoe, who represents the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Menla Blay, shared that this group, made up of locals from Nkroful, Asasetre, Adubrim, Akropong, Ebi, and other areas, came together to pool their resources to support the developmental needs of the Ahomu region. He mentioned that the Association has launched a mission aimed at uniting all Nzemas from the Akomu area living abroad. Mr. Elievi Quaicoe encouraged people from the area, no matter where they are in the world, to join the Association and contribute to the development of their home.
Dr. Augustine Kwesi Amoako, the District Director of Health Services, expressed his gratitude to the group for their generous donation as he received the items on behalf of the medical team. He emphasized that these supplies would significantly enhance the medical facilities at the Clinic, contributing to the delivery of quality healthcare. Dr. Kwesi Amoako also highlighted some challenges faced by the Health Directorate, such as leaks in their roof, and requested further support. He stressed the importance of adequately resourcing the Nkroful Clinic, even before the establishment of a District Hospital, to fulfill its mission effectively. At the Asasetre Clinic, Mr. Isaac Kabenla, a local resident, shared that he and his fellow townspeople plan to provide a new generator and mower for the Clinic soon. He encouraged the youth in the community to avoid irresponsible behavior and focus on higher education or vocational training for a brighter future. Mr. Ibrahim Issah, the Physician Assistant at the Asasetre Health Center, received the items on behalf of the Clinic and thanked the Association for their timely support. He urged the Association to continue assisting the Clinic in meeting the healthcare needs of the patients they serve daily. Mr. Issah assured everyone that the medical team is committed to delivering their best.
