August 1, 2025- The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company, Madam Judith Adjobah Blay, has received significant acclaim from the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council after a productive and community-focused meeting with local leaders and residents. Her recent visit was characterized by meaningful discussions and a strong commitment to enhancing the relationship between Ghana Gas and the Nzema communities affected by the company’s operations. The message was unmistakable: Ghana Gas is eager to contribute more to Nzema, with Madam Blay at the forefront of these efforts. In her address to the Council, Madam Blay presented a range of initiatives designed to ensure that the people of Nzema are actively involved in Ghana Gas’s activities. She emphasized five key areas that will shape her leadership approach:

  • Promoting Local Content: She committed to fostering partnerships with local businesses and ensuring that qualified individuals from the Nzema area are prioritized in Ghana Gas’s procurement and hiring processes.
  • Boosting Employment for the Youth: Madam Blay highlighted the importance of prioritizing job opportunities for the youth of Nzema, emphasizing the company’s dedication to creating sustainable employment rather than temporary solutions.

  • Opening Doors for Students and Graduates: Acknowledging the need for practical experience, she promised to increase national service and internship opportunities for young people in the affected communities.
  • Investing in Skills Training: The CEO announced plans for apprenticeship and mentorship programs aimed at supporting bright but financially disadvantaged youth, equipping them with skills for long-term success in the energy sector and beyond.
  • Equitable Development Projects: Lastly, she pledged to ensure that Ghana Gas’s community development projects are distributed fairly across both Nzema East and Jomoro municipalities, making sure that no community is overlooked. Traditional Leaders Welcome New Era of Cooperation: Nana Bonyah Kofi VI, a standing committee member of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council, expressed support.
