March 20, 2026, Today, as Muslims around the world celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the MP for Ellembelle, has sent heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community, wishing everyone a joyful Eid Mubarak.
The lawmaker, who holds the positions of Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, stated that the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr ought to bring great blessings to families within the Muslim community.
The festival of Eid ul-Fitr celebrates the end of Ramadan, a month dedicated to fasting and prayer, which are essential to the five pillars of Islam. Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah conveyed his hope that this occasion will inspire a period of growth and unity for the nation.
The MP praised the Muslim community for their dedication to peace, harmony, and religious tolerance within the nation. Earlier, the Ellembelle District Chief Imam, Sheikh Mustapha Abdullah Kwesi Buah, led a gathering of hundreds of Muslims who came together at the mosque in Kamgbunli for prayers.
In a khutbah (sermon), the District Chief Imam urged Muslims to refrain from acts that go against the Islamic faith.
He thanked Muslims in the area for their steadfastness and dedication throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
He reminded Muslims that Eid ul-Fitr is not only a period of eating, drinking, and merry-making but, more importantly, a time to thank God for His mercy, protection, and guidance.
“Eid ul-Fitr is also an occasion for appreciation, gratitude, and thanksgiving for the accomplishments during the period of fasting.”
Sheikh Mustapha Abdullah Kwesi Buah advised Muslims to be moderate in their celebrations and to “stop using Eid ul-Fitr celebrations to consume anything haram.”
He also encouraged them to reunite with their families.
The Chief Executive of the Ellembelle District, Hon. Joseph Armah Agyekum, participated in the celebrations alongside the Muslim community.
