Juli 28, 2025- The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Hon. Joseph Agyekum, has cut sod for the construction of school infrastructure in two communities Atababo and Bobrama to improve access to quality education.
With support from the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, a six-unit classroom block will be built at Bobrama, while a three-unit classroom block will be constructed at Atababo D/A Junior High School.
The classroom blocks will include ancillary facilities such as staff common rooms, ICT centers, toilet facilities, borehole water systems, headmaster’s offices, and more. Upon completion, the new classroom blocks will be fully equipped with furniture.
During a brief sod-cutting ceremony held over the weekend, DCE Agyekum praised MP Buah for his ongoing commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the district. “This significant milestone showcases Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for our community. His efforts reflect a deep commitment to the welfare and future of our people, and we are truly thankful for his support,” he stated. The DCE urged community members to support the contractors in completing the projects promptly and encouraged the contractors to hire local youth for the construction work. He also recognized the hard work of teachers in these underserved areas, emphasizing their role in motivating students to take their education seriously. Having previously taught as an Economics teacher in the district, Hon. Agyekum inspired the students to prioritize their studies and avoid distractions that could hinder their future success.
He made a commitment to collaborate closely with the MP to ensure that more qualified teachers are assigned to the underprivileged communities in the district, aiming to provide quality education for the children in those areas. Consequently, he urged the chiefs and residents of the two communities to rally behind the district, the MP, and President John Dramani Mahama in their efforts to develop the Ellembelle district assembly. The chiefs and staff from these two communities expressed their gratitude to the DCE and the MP for the initiative and promised to assist the contractors in completing the projects on schedule.
