March 12, 2026, In the historic month of March, dubbed Ghana Heritage Month, the Paramount Chief of the Lower Axim Traditional Area, Awulae Attibrukusu III, has made a passionate appeal to Paramount Chiefs and all traditional rulers in the Nzema area to put aside the forces that divide them and unite to spearhead the growth and development of the area.
He stated that without unity and love, the Nzema area will continue to lag behind in development, which will ultimately affect both the current and future generations.
Awulae Dr. Attibrukusu III made these remarks while speaking to the media in Axim as part of activities marking the celebration of Ghana Heritage Month in March.
He further noted that at 69 years, Ghana is old enough to assert its rightful place among the comity of nations, but achieving this requires unity of purpose among traditional rulers, who are major stakeholders in the governance system and nation-building process.

Awulae Dr. Attibrukusu III stated that the divisions and conflicts on the chieftaincy front will not augur well for the development that is greatly desired in the Nzema area.
For her part, the Queen Mother of Axim, Obahyemaa Erza Ngonlomah, advised the youth who spew insults on social media to tarnish the image of Paramount Chiefs and other traditional rulers to desist from such practices.
She said that as the nation marks Heritage Month, the youth must refrain from acts and behaviours that are alien to Ghanaian culture, such as showing disrespect to the elderly.
Obahyemaa Erza Ngonlomah further reminded the youth to imbibe indigenous African values such as respect for the elderly, discipline in their dressing, hard work, and perseverance.
She also advised parents to inculcate sound moral training in their children so they can grow into responsible adults.
