October 7, 2025, ADAMUS Resources Limited, a gold prospecting company based in Salman within the Ellembelle District, announced its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by initiating reconstruction efforts on the Teleku-Bokazo to Salma road. This road is crucial as it connects Esiama, Teleku-Bokazo, and Salman to Dominase and Simpa Junction, providing a more direct route for commuters heading to Tarkwa, compared to the longer detour through the Esiama to Apemenim junction.
The need for reconstruction has arisen due to severe potholes and cracks on the road, which have been caused by erosion and the weight of heavy-duty trucks. This situation followed a special request from the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ellembelle, Mr. Joseph Agyekum, to ADAMUS Resources Limited, urging them to improve the road network in their operational area. The poor condition of the roads has led many commuters to stop using that route. Consequently, motorbikes and tricycles have taken advantage of the situation, charging passengers high fares for their services. A source from the Ellembelle District Assembly mentioned that under the government’s Big Push initiative, which President John Dramani Mahama is expected to announce during his upcoming tour of the Western Region, the road from Teleku-Bokazo to Salma and Simpa Junction will receive significant upgrades, including asphalt paving. Farmers along that route have also called on the government to take swift action to asphalt the road, hoping to finally address the ongoing damage caused by natural elements and human activity.
