June 20, 2025 – His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has directed Kingspok Construction Company to return to the PTC Interchange site in Takoradi.
This directive marks a significant step toward the project’s completion.
The company has been tasked with finishing all ancillary works on the interchange, which is a vital infrastructure project in the Western Region.
Originally scheduled for completion within 30 months, the PTC Interchange project had stalled due to funding challenges and the contractor’s withdrawal. However, with the government’s renewed commitment, the project is now back on track.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, has played a key role in pushing for the project’s revival. His efforts, coupled with President Mahama’s directive, demonstrate the government’s dedication to delivering critical infrastructure across the country.
Since assuming office, the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, has actively lobbied for the timely completion of both the PTC Interchange and the Takoradi Market project.
Once completed, the PTC Interchange is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis. It will also boost economic activity in the region by improving access to the Takoradi Port.
