Believers in Christendom in the twin-city of Awiebo-Basake, on April 13, 2025, paraded through the principal streets of the town to herald the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, as part of the Easter festivities.
Hoisting oil palm branches, the believers echoed songs such as “Hosanna, The King Cometh,” among others.
Palm Sunday is observed by Christians on the Christian calendar as the last Sunday before the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of the Lord and Master, Jesus Christ commemorating His triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Preaching the sermon at the Sacred Action Church in Basake which coincided with the blessing of the nuptial ceremony of the newly married couple, Mr. Samuel Anderson and Mrs. Esther Anderson District Pastor, Reverend Richard Cobbinah, encouraged believers with the message that “it shall not remain like this forever.”
He emphasized that just as Jesus Christ went through suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection, believers who seek Him will also experience greater and manifold blessings in their lives.

Preaching the sermon at the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Awiebo on the theme, “The Suffering of the Innocent,” the Church Steward, Madam Joyce Kankam, reminded believers that Jesus Christ suffered at a time when He was not found guilty of any offense.
She said Jesus Christ did not concern Himself with false accusations, but rather emerged victorious at the end of His journey.
Madam Joyce Kankam noted that no matter what you do, people will criticize so it is better to always choose to do good.
She emphasized that suffering is not always the result of sin or a curse, but can be a sign of greater things to come.
She added that the Apostle Paul referred to Christ as the Holy One, highlighting how He never surrendered despite all the untold suffering He endured.

At the Saint Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Awiebo, the President of the Church, Mr. Dennis Yanzu, advised believers to repent and put their house in order as they await the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Preaching on the theme, “The Lord Is Coming to Save His People,” he urged believers to forgive one another and focus on the Messiah, who forgives all sinners who repent from their evil ways.
